Counseling Services
RMYA supports families navigating a wide range of behavioral and emotional crises, including but not limited to parent-child conflict, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts or behaviors, PTSD, trafficking, child abuse, bullying, truancy, delinquent behaviors, low self-esteem, and exposure to violence. We accept Traditional Medicaid and Superior Health Medicaid for counseling services. For those without these plans, grant-funded support makes counseling available at no cost. No family is turned away due to inability to pay.

Psychiatric Clinic
RMYA offers short-term psychiatric evaluations and follow-up services for children awaiting private psychiatric care. We serve children ages 17 and younger, as well as their families.

Parenting Classes
RMYA is developing trauma-informed parenting classes that integrate the Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) framework to support and empower families. Course details, including schedules and sign-up information, will be available soon. Please check back regularly for updates.

Youth Respite Care
RMYA partners with The Center for Health Care Services (CHCS) to provide short-term Youth Respite Care through the Children’s Crisis Avoidance Program. Families must first qualify through CHCS, which, if requested, then refers youth ages 5–17 to RMYA for a safe, supportive respite stay at no cost. This program is a brief break—not a placement—and requires agreement from both youth and their parents or guardians.

From Crisis to Care: A Family's Story
Jorge and Analise love their three children dearly and want the best for them. As their eldest son, Abraham, was turning 16, the family began to notice that he wasn’t acting like himself. His behavior became unpredictable and, at times, frightening. Alarmed by Abraham’s uncharacteristic behavior, unsure how to help him, and desperate for answers, Jorge and Analise took their son to the emergency room.
It was there that Abraham was diagnosed with Schizophrenia Psychosis—a serious mental illness. Following his diagnosis, Abraham was moved to a mental hospital where doctors told the family this was only the beginning of his journey with schizophrenia. The news was devastating. Jorge and Analise wondered if they would ever get the bright, joyful little boy they raised back. During this distressing time, their prayers were answered when Abraham was referred to RMYA’s Family Counseling & Resource Center. “RMYA was definitely sent from God,” Jorge said. “When I arrived at the counseling center, I could sense love and care for the kids and their families. I felt a sense of relief that someone was there to help me with my son. I couldn’t do it alone anymore.”
With the right support, recovery or stability is possible for people suffering from mental health issues. Hospitals can stabilize a crisis, but long-term healing requires consistent mental health care. That’s where the Family Counseling & Resource Center can step in and help families find hope and achieve lasting healing. Abraham needed professional care, and RMYA provided it—with compassion, expertise, and unwavering support.
I couldn't do it alone anymore.
