State funding covers only 50% of RMYA's cost of care.
Due to severe trauma, 90% of RMYA Children require intensive therapy.
100% of the children's fun activities are funded by supporters.
Government support helps provide the basics, but it does not fund the full cost of trauma-informed care, licensed clinicians, safe and healing residential environments, or the facility improvements required to meet today’s higher-acuity needs.
This year’s $1 million anniversary fundraising goal will strengthen counseling that helps families stay together whenever possible, expand therapeutic spaces, and improve the residential environments where children begin to feel safe, stable, and hopeful again.
We are raising $180K to bring Psycho Drama, Art & Sand Therapy, and CBT Therapy spaces into fruition. This remodel expands our therapeutic trauma counseling program, including art therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). These improvements will create dedicated clinical offices that ensure extremely vulnerable children—many of whom have experienced severe trauma and sexual abuse—have access to confidential, consistent, and effective mental health treatment.
This year, we are raising $250,000 to expand psychiatric care for children and families and enhance the nursing and technology needed to increase access to services that help strengthen families and keep them together.Without that first step, many children never make it across the bridge. Your gift ensures every child receives the full medical and psychiatric care they need to heal.
RMYA needs over $300K each year to support children’s enrichment activities and therapeutic life-skill programs. Trips to the park require transportation, swimming requires lifeguards, and even simple activities like movies or theme parks have ticket costs. These therapeutic activities—and life-skill workshops that build independence, confidence, and future readiness—are not covered by the State of Texas.
