We are so excited to announce the first ever Roy Maas Youth Alternatives (RMYA) It’s a New Day 5k on November 11th, 2017, benefitting the Girlsville program at Meadowland. Meadowland was established in 1986, when RMYA moved all of the long-term residential programs for children removed from abusive homes, to 42 beautiful acres on Old San Antonio Road. For 31 years, over five thousand abused and neglected Texas children have found healing, love, support and hope at Meadowland.
This chip-timed run is the culmination of the Girlsville running club that began to promote exercise, increased healthy lifestyle, and promote a way to cope with stress for our children. The 14-week training program affords those who have no athletic background to ease into running, at a pace that is challenging, yet comfortable enough to offer success. The program culminates with the 5k on November 11th, celebrating their committment. Please join us in congratulating these young runners and help us raise money and awareness of the needs of the children who call Meadowland home. Every dollar raised on November11th, will support the activities fund for the Girlsville program at Meadowland.
Please contact Kasham Laine, Girlsville Program Administrator, at (830) 816-2425 ext. 2120 or firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or need more information about our It’s a New Day 5k.
