The RMYA Counseling Center offers the Becoming a Love and Logic Parent training course on Tuesdays from 6:00 pm - 8:00pm. The Becoming a Love and Logic Parent program was developed by Jim Fay, Charles Fay, Ph.D, and Foster W. Cline, M.D., of the Love and Logic Institute, Inc., in Golden Colorado.

 

Course Overview

Identify the four steps of responsibility

Recognize who has the control

Offer appropriate choices in order to share control

Identify if a given problem belongs to the child or parent

Set limits for children using "thinking words," or enforceable statements.

Recognize empathetic responses.

Design appropriate consequences for inappropriate behavior

Design a strategy for resolving a problem situation, or problem behavior, using Love and logic principles.
