This position is a part-time position. Staff must be flexible to work a combination of 7:00a.m.-3:00p.m. and 3:00p.m.-11:00p.m. shifts, to include weekends and holidays.You must be able to pass a criminal history check, drug screening, have a clean driving record and be at least 21 years of age.

TTIPS Grant Guidance Counselor
The Guidance Counselor will assist students in obtaining the maximum benefit from their school experiences. The counselor will implement the developmental and comprehensive guidance activities to help students grow and develop by teaching them how to: make decisions, work with others, respect the rights of other, assume responsibility of oneself, and develop a positive self-image. Provide a full range of services, including assessment, remediation, information, placement follow-up, consultation and referral.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification/Skills:

Master's degree from accredited university in Education

Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned or TPP Program through Region XX or other state approved program

Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned

Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.

Responsibilities and Duties (not limited to):
1. Work collaboratively with the English teacher(s) to implement a quality math program that is researched based with a focus on differentiating reading instructions.
2. Analyze school reading data and plan for future school-wide needs.
3. Promote teacher's delivery and understanding of the school curriculum through collaborative long-range and short-range planning and teacher coaching.
4. Implement intensive strategies in Reading areas to improve student achievement and increase teacher quality/leadership effectiveness.
5. Interpret the abilities and disabilities of students and work cooperatively with classroom teacher who have these particular students in class.
6. Increase or improve the reading capabilities of a student.
7. Collect and facilitate the review and use of school math data to guide instruction and plan for student needs.
8. Demonstrate ideal reading lessons to teachers in workshop settings and during professional development.
9. Evaluate assessment tests to determine students' literacy levels.
10. Develop and implement individual literacy plans for students.
11. Analyze data and performing research on literacy.
